Ceilidh night, thanks to all. (Includes photos!)

This years Ceilidh night in aid of Macmillan Cancer support, is now just a distant memory for some and a fuzzy one for others! The entertaining mixture of song, dance, poetry and musical skills were really appreciated on a night attended by, what looked like, most of the village plus a good few more.

Bo Broadfoot, one of the chief event organizers summed it up well “Just loved the friendly family feeling on the night, and the surprising talent around – though it was about 3am when we got home!”

The winner of the bottle of malt raffle which was started off in The Glenelg Shop was Johnnie Cameron.

The total raised on the night was £838.67 a staggering amount when you consider there was no entrance fee and this was purely from donations and the raffle. Well done all.

Definitely in the top 20, “performances on the night”, were Rab and Colin with their Proclaimers tribute act “The Disclaimers”.

Saturday was a busy day for fundraising and during the afternoon the annual Church sale was also held. It was well attended and also raised over £900.

With thanks to Moira Lane for some of the photos.
